Solar control Low-E glass, also known as sun shade glass or Solar control coated glass , is a functional architectural glass designed for energy efficiency and solar management. It is manufactured by depositing one or more layers of metal or metal oxide films onto high-quality float glass via magnetron sputtering or chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technology.
This glass selectively reflects and absorbs solar radiation—blocking harmful UV rays and infrared heat while maintaining comfortable visible light transmission. It delivers an optimal balance of daylighting, privacy, and thermal comfort, making it a core material for green building energy conservation.
