Self-cleaning glass utilizes the energy from sunlight to clean itself. It is attached to the glass through in-situ chemical vapor deposition, forming an integral part with one of the glass surfaces. Therefore, the presence or absence of glass determines its lifespan.
Even on cloudy or overcast days, there is still sufficient light for the self-cleaning film to maintain window cleanliness through two steps:
1.Self-cleaning glass loosens dirt while the self-cleaning coating gradually decomposes organic matter using the energy from sunlight.
2.When it rains, the rainwater automatically spreads across the self-cleaning glass cleaning film surface to remove dust particles and inorganic dirt, achieving the effect of spot-free and streak-free windows after drying. Under most climatic conditions, natural rainfall is sufficient to maintain window cleanliness. In arid climates, a quick rinse with a hose can also achieve the same result.
